Country Cottage Holiday near Bath with a Special Garden
BBC Visit Spindle Cottage again in 2009
This time Gardeners World featured the"Sheds" at Spindle Cottage in its 2009 series (episode number seven originally aired on Friday the 29th May 2009). The programme in part takes a look at the quirky nature of the "Englishman" and his fascination with sheds. It takes the view that the elaborate and well conceived children's play cottages and other disguised garden coverings are a substitute for sheds. This extract was then picked up by the Daily Mail who sent along a reporter and photographer to interview us in preparation for publication as a part of its feature on "Sheds".
BBC visit Spindle Cottage
Spindle Cottage garden was featured on BBC 2 on Monday September 10th 2007 on Open Garden with Carol Klein the BBC garden expert. Filming had taken place during the year watching our progress getting the garden ready to open for The National Garden Scheme. Our open day was 24th June 2007 which happened to be Carol's and Angela's birthday so celebrations took place during the afternoon with friends and family. The sun shone on us and the 200 + visitors all enjoying the garden and wonderful Cream Teas and Cakes. Carol said during the programme: "This is the most inspiring garden I've ever been in".
The TV programme has been well received with wonderful comments and praise from all who managed to watch the afternoon show. It was great fun to do and Carol Klein was wonderful to be with she is colourful, full of fun and joy you could say rather like our garden. Many thanks to all who helped and supported us and made it a great day.

Play cottages are a feature of the garden
For the children and the young at heart you will find three magical play houses. First is Ruth's Cottage, gothic in style with a tiny cast iron stove, wooden table, chairs and a dresser. Tom's Lodge is an Elizabethan thatch cottage, with a tiny stair case to the upper room. Lastly you will find Charlotte's Post Office, a Victorian shop. Filled with fruit and vegetables, cakes and tins, a little cash till and a post box. All await each young guest for a play time never to be forgotten.
